Maserati started out life as the dream of four brothers working in a small repair shop in Bologna, Italy. They thought of developing a line of luxury cars inspired by racing cars. They began producing these iconic cars in 1914 and have not ceased production. Maserati is intensely proud of our long tradition and great history. Below are some of our most iconic vehicles.
The Alfieri
Known for its bold lines and 454 horsepower of torque, the Alfieri made its debut at the 2014 Geneva Auto Show. It is a 2X2 coupe with many design cues from the A6 GCS. Production began in 2016.
The A6GCS/53 Berlinetta
The Maserati A6GCS/53 Berlinetta is a race car with a luxurious exterior. The original design was an open-top, but only four of these were built. Heavy rain during the Mile Miglia in 1953 changed their minds.
Maserati 3500 GT
This famous car features a low roofline and a 3.5-liter engine. It was the first vehicle in the Gran Turismo line, was offered in the open and closed top, and remained in production until 1964.
The 61 Tipo Birdcage
The 61 Tipo or Birdcage was designed to race both for speed and endurance. It featured lightweight construction, a rigid frame, and an independent front suspension. The Birdcage name came from its 200-piece structure. It twice won the Nurburgring 1000 kilometer race.
The Ghibli
The Ghibli looked like no other vehicle at the time, or since, it even differed from Maseratis. The Ghibli was produced between 1967 and 1973 and featured a V-8 engine and later a twin-turbo V6 in the late 1990s.
