Each year drivers need to prepare their vehicles for winter. As the temperate plummets, you should have an understanding of what checked your need to complete on your car.
Unfortunately, during winter is when many car parts will begin to fail. Preparation is key to protecting your car over the winter months.
Tires
Your tires are the point of contact between your car and your road. Many countries require you to have winter tires fitted. You should check the tire pressure and the condition of the tire tread. When the road is wet, icy, and slipper, the quality of your tires will make an impact on your ability to slow.
Bakes and Lights
Do a run-through of all of your lights.

Your brake pads should also be checked in the easy winter months. The quality of your brake pads and your rotors will be the difference between stopping on time and not.
Wipers and Fluids
Your wipers need to be in good working order as they will give you a clear view of the road by keeping your windscreen clean. Check antifreeze levels, engine coolant, and engine oils too. Top up everything so that you get a safe drive.
Battery
Test the battery regularly to make sure that it is working well. Letting a car sit for too long without driving it will cause the battery to lose its charge. You should ideally take your car for a drive longer than 15 minutes regularly to keep it topped up.
Alternators and Starter Motor
The alternator keeps your car battery charged; if your battery dies a lot, then it is probable your alternator needs to be replaced. The cold weather can make your car squeal. If it goes away after the car is warm, then it might’ve needed some heat. Your starter motor could be a problem if the car clicks when you are starting the car. Synthetic oils don’t condense as easily and can help.
